Post Detail

In my last post, I asked if we are delivering the goods. Sahaba Initiative clearly demonstrates that this generation of young Muslims is firmly dedicated to the ideals of Islam; they want to deliver the goods. Simply put, they need our support. Please take a moment to watch this short video and I highly recommend supporting their work.

Sahaba Initiative is dedicated to providing the tools to nurture healthy families and individuals of all backgrounds.

As Salaamu Alaikum, Habeebi, and Ramadhan Mubarak. This is Hassan Abdullah. It’s been a long time since our plane ride together back to the States from Saudia. But, I’ve followed your blog often and try to nourish myself from your work. I have just started a small Islamic clothing/community service business called “Heroes|Sheroes International”. This Sahabah Initiative has really touched me deeply and I want to support them anyway I can. We will be launching our website (heroshero.com) Tuesday, inshaa Allah. Thank you for informing me about them. I will contact them to start building our relationship of support for the Pleasure of Allah.

Love You for the Sake of Allah,

    Hassan Abdullah

Oh Yeah! I wanted to share with you that our name Heroes|Sheroes International is composed of 2 acronyms because this is the image that I believe beautiful, practicing Muslims really are:

    Humans-Exceeding-Remarkable-Opposition-thru-Excellence-and-Service AND

Jazakumullahul Khair for all of your constant efforts.

Hassan! Wa ‘alaykum salaam. It’s great to hear from you. Yes, that plane ride back in 2008. I pray you’re doing well. I eagerly look forward to the launch. May Allah bless it with success. Amin!

Would this organization qualify as a recpient for zakaht?

Salaams, Jason. You’d have to double-check with them as I know they do many initiatives for Muslim and non-Muslim alike. Zakah, unlike sadaqah, is exclusively for Muslims. I’d contact them.
