Two suspects have been charged in the robbery of two Philadelphia area donut shops. Now police are trying to determine if they played a role in a third robbery. Late Tuesday afternoon, two Dunkin’ Donuts, one located at 5401 N. 5th Street and one located at 813 Adams Avenue, were held up. Shortly thereafter, around 5:00 p.m., police say a man held up a Dunkin’ Donuts on the 5000 block of Chew Avenue, taking with him an undisclosed amount of cash. Around 7:00 p.m., police stopped a Jeep fitting the description of the getaway vehicle involved in the Adams Avenue robbery. It was determined to be stolen and the occupants, two men, were taken into custody. Police say they are charging the two suspects with robbery and theft of the stores located at 813 Adams Avenue and 5401 N. 5th Street. There is a third gunman still on the loose. Police are looking into if the suspects were involved on the Chew Avenue robbery. In addition to the three holdups, police say a fourth robbery occurred in the Northeast on Tuesday, as well as a couple others have been reported since Thanksgiving.
