Commenting Rules

One of the main goals and objectives of this blog is to analyze and reflect upon the intellectual and spiritual tradition of Islam as it relates to the condition of Muslims in America. The writing here focuses on the various manifestations Islam in America and tries to ply erudite interpretations of Islam to help navigate Muslim life in America as well as how we as Muslims can better contribute to the society at large.

While this blog was an idea born of my own over seven years ago, I have always welcomed the input from its readership. I wish to continue that spirit but now I am placing a few more requirements on commenting: first, a full name and e-mail address. This may seem trivial but this will allow me first, to establish a personal contact with those who take the time to read this blog [and for that, I thank you!] as well as helping to ensure the honesty of those who commentate. I have witnessed a tendency by commentators at other blogs as well as this one to leave hostile comments without leaving a name. Hostility will not be tolerated, though controversial or even heated debate, as long as it is camped in good nature, will always be welcomed.

So with those few words, I look forward to continuing to engage with all of you and of course, I thank you for taking the time to read and contribute to this enterprise.
